GIBBtel was established in 1984. Our original operation was that of manufacturer’s representatives. Discovering we didn’t really care for a lifestyle of constant travel, we began to buy and sell merchandise for our own account rather than for other companies. On December 29, 1986 we shipped the first order out of our own facility. Our customer base consisted of those businesses we had called on when we were on the road. After a few years into our new operation we changed our company name from Gibb & Associates to GIBBtel to better reflect the fact that we actually stocked what we sold.
Over the years the merchandise mix has changed but the way we operate the business has changed little. Many of the customers from our original base are still our customers. We enjoy good counter sales at our facility in addition to shipping out, same day via UPS, those orders for in-stock merchandise received by 2 P.M. central time.
We only sell to businesses that do Telecom/Datacom install and maintenance work for the general public and to persons trained in IT operations for their respective companies. We have no retail division.
